The youth movement Ashanak who are known for their voluntary work all around the year, had recently took a voluntary part in the season of olives, where they helped one of the Palestinian prisoner’s family in the process of collecting the olives during the olives season at the family house in Abu- dis Alswahre .
The event which took place at the prisoner’s Husam Shaheen family house who was sentenced of 27 years -, was first organized on their Facebook page where they had invited people from different ages to participate with them in the event.
The idea of the event came out during the following of the events of supporting the Palestinian prisoners who are suffering in the Israeli military jails, such as Shaheen.
The group of Ashank spent the whole day at the family house where they had participated withe the family in collecting the olive,packing it and sending some bags of olives to be pressed in the olive presses in the area where the family lives .
As mentioned before in the main article about Ashank ,they are a group that is self-financed group, and its aims are not for getting fame nor profit, and in the essence this latest event they held, everything that was included in the event was fully funded by them from the transportation for all the people who participated in the event from all over Jerusalem to the family house , as well as the food of breakfast and lunch.
with this latest event of Ashank, the group is aiming to grow more where they hope that their ideas will spread all over the country to include not just Jerusalem , but the west bank and Gaza as well , where Ashank will grow to multiple groups under the same name and the same love of helping the other.
