“The earth is the library …. and the reader is no stranger” , this was the logo the huge series of Tanween began by.
Along with the believe that the book and the reader should never be strange , and no matter how the internet and reading online gets bigger, or how many people are using it and getting away from books , people will always go back to the book, the basic source of education and knowledge .
Majdi Ibrahim who was first inspired by a similar series of reading in turkey wanted to apply what he saw in his own community, home, college and country Palestine.
The first event of this series which took place at Berziet university the college where Majdi studies, was very much successful, and almost two hundred students from BZU participated in the event , and by that the series continued to include the rest of the Palestinians colleges and schools , from Al-Quds university to Al-Najah university as well with the american university in Jeneen and many more ,setting a great examples of the importance of reading and going back to the book as the main and most important source of information.
The events of Tanween series which have been taking places in all over different universities were organized as  events on Facebook by their Facebook page were many people were invited to them  , and by this the series grow with each event, where everyone participating in the event would invite another friends of him/her helping the event to grow much bigger.
The events are designed to take places in anywhere the students would choose where each student or participant would take any place he/she want , with any book they choose and read for 40 minutes.
After the huge participation Tanween series has had all around the universities and schools in Jerusalem and the west bank, the growth of it started to reach out for more places and many different ages , by the latest event they had at Al-Aqsa Mosq where many people participated in the event , allowing Tanween to reach to different people from different fields other than students in schools or universities setting the idea that “the earth is the library ….. and the reader is no stranger “.
